Palmyra New York.

Home of the world famous Hill Cumorah Pageant, the Wayne County Fair, The Palmyra Canaltown Days Festival. Resting on the old Erie Canal, Palmyra, founded in 1789, offers much to visitors and the folks who make their home here.

I'm George Barnes. In the next few pages I'll show you some of our history, our landmarks, and just maybe convince you to visit us.

Every few weeks I publish an ezine here that focuses on the Palmyra area. My goal is to keep it informative, light hearted, and valuable to people living and visiting here. I hope you'll look it up at GoPalmyra. You might even want to use GoPalmyra as your home site, or link it from your home page.

Palmyra is located in Upstate New York, just a few minutes north of the New York State Thruway, and almost exactly between Lake Ontario and the beautiful Finger Lakes Region. If you didn't know better, you could be convinced you were in New England. Our history is filled with stories of early settlers, the digging of the Erie Canal, the building of Churches, the birth of the Mormon religion, and, of course, our share of controversy.
